SEASON OPENER
OK, all you summertime layabouts…off the bench and into the lineup for our Season
Opener on 9-10-08 at Maggiano's in Chicago!
We've got Tom Waddle in the huddle and ready to run as our Guest Speaker, following on the
heels of last year's appearance by Dan Hampton, which was one of our best-attended meetings
in years. This year, we may even have an SRO crowd….
Enclosed is an invitation with all of the details…just visit our web site or call the
FCAC office (630/393-1313) to sign up. This one will be complimentary for all FCAC/PDCA
Contractors and Associates who are in good standing.
On another topic, please note the article in this month's Monitor about your PDC14 Business
Agent contacts. It's a handy new reference for the times when you may need help or information
from the Union…so you know who to contact in the various districts of PDC14. Cut it out
and keep it with you…never know when you'll be needing it.
I have more interesting news for you, as the new Market Recovery Program takes shape for our
PDC14 area. We are pleased to announce that a talented gentleman named Clark Johnson has now
been appointed to serve as the first Marketing Director for FCAC as we join forces with the
Union in a focused effort to regain work for our FCAC Contractor members that has been
slipping over to the non-Union sector in recent years. His initial targets will be building
owners and managers downtown who control the lucrative repaint business.

Clark brings a wealth of education, drive, and experience to the table for spearheading this
new initiative. A 1988 graduate of Northern Illinois University with a major in Industrial
Technology, he worked ten years for Sherwin-Williams, seven years for H.B. Fuller, and five
years for Video Conferencing Management, prior to joining Payroll Processors in marketing
and sales. He lives in Naperville with his wife, Heather, and their three boys. He's a Sox
fan, which we can forgive because he also loves Wrigley Field and roots for the Bears.
Watch for Clark at forthcoming FCAC meetings, and be sure to take advantage of the marketing
tools he'll be offering for Contractors. Just for one example, he has a Sales and Marketing
Seminar in the works for painting contractors, which will be offered later this Fall.
It is being designed to help Sales and Estimating personnel close the deal on new business
in an evermore competitive painting contracting industry.
See you September 10th?
All the Best…
